3 outfits for different Valentine’s Day vibes
Written by Vatika Mohanty
Between the traditional couples’ Valentine’s Day, the bubbly Galentine’s Day, the self-care singles’ Valentine’s Day and any other way you celebrate Feb. 14, there are plenty of styles that will give you unforgettable looks.
Traditionally, Valentine’s Day attire is a black suit and a red dress. But we live in 2022 when there are so many options out there for you to wear what you want for however you plan on celebrating.
Below are three of my personal favorites, but the possibilities are endless based on what you’re comfortable wearing and how you want to feel.
1. The basic and classy
There is something eye-catching about sticking to the basics. You can keep it traditional with a red dress or you can mix things up by incorporating the rainbow. Change things up, be individual and be you.
You can keep it classy and sexy with a little black dress, or welcome an early spring with a floral dress. Maybe you’re feeling a jumpsuit or romper with a bomber jacket over it.
2. The cool and casual
Wearing a dress might seem too dressed up to some. Maybe you want to go for a more cool and casual look. You can wear something that you would feel comfortable wearing on a night out with friends, but still make it seem like you put some thought into looking dressed up.
For me, this looks like wearing a pair of casual pants and a nice shirt that I would maybe wear on Casual Friday (remember when that was a thing?).
3. The comfy and homey
This is my personal favorite because even pre-pandemic, this is what you would find me wearing 95% of the time — sweats or joggers and a nice cozy sweater. Sounds like the best time to me.
After a nice warm shower and the perfect skincare routine, pick out your favorite pair of sweats and softest sweater. Lounging on the couch watching your favorite TV show or movie while having popcorn with a cup of hot chocolate is a lovely way to shower yourself with love on the day of love.
These are just three options for Valentine’s Day looks but the possibilities are really endless depending on how you want to dress.
These are the options I personally gravitate toward when picking outfits for special occasions these days because I want to feel either classy, casual or comfortable.
Remember to dress to impress yourself, not only dress to impress others. If you feel comfortable and happy with who you are, you will put your best foot forward!
