Website Specialist

Job Overview:

  • Update and upload articles on a weekly basis

  • Be ready for any breaking news articles

  • Use Squarespace to facilitate website communications

  • Address bug fixes and site issues

  • Work closely with Head of Product to identify and address site changes

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to learn about Squarespace

  • Communicates clearly and often

  • Strong organization skills

  • Comfortable with online platforms and technology

  • Ability to work and strategize in a fast-paced environment

  • Passion for social media and Parachute’s mission and vision

Graphic Designers & Illustrators

Job Overview: 

  • Meet with clients or the art director to determine the scope of a project

  • Use digital illustration, photo editing software, and layout software to create designs for Parachute’s social media accounts and events 

  • Create visual elements such as logos, original images, and illustrations to help deliver Parachute’s voice and message

  • Design layouts, including selection of colors, images, and typefaces that match Parachute’s brand

  • Present design concepts to clients or art directors

  • Incorporate changes recommended by clients or art directors into final designs

  • Review designs for errors before printing or publishing them

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in graphic design or have a clean-cut, ‘vectorized’ style We really love all forms of graphic design, but think more sans serif than serif typefaces

  • Communicates clearly

  • Comfortable working with different teams

  • Ability to work and strategize in a fast paced environment

  • Passion for social media and Parachute’s mission and vision

Staff Writers for all of the Parachute Sections  - Health & Wellness, Politics & Activism, Money & Career, Culture & Entertainment, Identity, Love, and Beauty

Job Overview:

  • Report to section editor of corresponding section

  • Write 3-4 articles a month (sometimes social media posts)

  • Attend weekly section meetings and Biweekly editorial and Parachute meetings

Qualifications:

  • Article writing experience

  • Editing and copyediting skills

  • Communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

  • Passion for social media and Parachute’s mission and vision

Location: Remote

Commitment: ~5-7 hours/week

Money & Career Section Editor

Job Overview:

  • Manage a team of 2-3 staff writers

  • Lead weekly section meetings

  • Create and implement a monthly plan

  • Edit articles and follow up with writers

  • Come up with ideas and strategies for section

Qualifications:

  • Writing and editing skills - journalism background or something similar

  • Leadership, time management and communication skills

  • Willingness to learn

  • Interview and outreach skills
